Article Summary:

The Atlanta Hawks and veteran guard Lou Williams have reportedly agreed to a 1-year, $5 million contract to keep Williams in Atlanta, per Shams Charania. Co/wc6Q6MsbPQ

– Shams Charania August 5, 2021

Williams, a Gwinnett County native, was traded along with two second-round picks to Atlanta from the Los Angeles Clippers for Rajon Rondo in a deadline deal in late March. Williams will continue his second stint with the Hawks after playing 99 games for Atlanta between the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

The Hawks now presumably sit with 14 players on NBA contracts following the agreements to sign Gorgui Dieng and Solomon Hill and the yet to be finalized multi-team trade that reportedly sends out Bruno Fernando and Kris Dunn out while bringing Delon Wright to Atlanta.
